Bio
Minh Phan arrived in Australia in 1980 as an eight year old Vietnamese boat person and went on to study medicine while concurrently studying visual arts, initially at Victoria University and later at the Victorian College of the Arts. Minh currently works as a General Practitioner in Melbourne whilst practising art, as well as raising twin daughters with his wife. Minh is interested in diaspora and identity, the power biases of observations, and in looking at the act of looking. He is also interested in aspects of time, memory and absence. His art practice includes oil painting, installation, video and performance.
